Movie Review “Ved” (Marathi)

“Ved” is a remake of the 2019 Telugu-language romantic drama, “Majili.” “Ved” includes Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Jiya Shankar, Ashok Saraf, Vidyadhar Joshi, Raviraj Kande, Shubhankar Tawde, Khushi Hajare in the lead roles. After watching “Ved”, I genuinely believe that it is one of the finest remakes ever made. Riteish Deshmukh directed this remake skillfully, keeping the tone light-hearted and avoiding heavy emotional scenes. As a director, he knows how to engage the audience effectively. The film strikes a perfect balance between emotions, entertainment, and comedy.

The first half of the movie focuses on Riteish (Satya) and Jiya’s (Nisha) love story, while the second half revolves around Riteish (Satya) and Genelia’s (Shravani) characters. I particularly liked the way Riteish introduced Genelia’s character. You will feel love and sympathy towards Shravani, even though people like her may be rare in real life. The ending is incredibly emotional and is sure to make you cry.

Every single character has delivered an excellent performance in the film. Riteish has performed the role of Satya convincingly. Genelia’s acting involves you into the story, although I felt her Marathi could have been better. However, her expressions were excellent. Genelia and Riteish, a beloved real-life couple, present an outstanding chemistry on-screen. Watching veteran actor Ashok Saraf is a true delight for the audience. His punches added extra flavor to the movie. Jiya Shankar, a newcomer, delivered an impressive performance. Child actor Khushi Hajare portrayed the character of Khushi (Nisha’s daughter) exceptionally well.

The best part of the movie is Ajay Atul’s music. Every song in the movie is a gem. The title track, “Ved tujha,” is not only sung beautifully but also visually captivating. Another incredible song is “Sukh Kalale,” by Shreya Ghoshal, who flawlessly sung every difficult Marathi pronunciation. The male rendition of “Sukh Kalale” by Ajay Gogavale is again truly fantastic.

Overall, it’s a delightful romantic love story. If you’re a fan of Genelia and Riteish, you’ll surely enjoy this movie.
