“LOVE-ALL” is a beautiful, emotional father-son story with badminton at its heart. Anand Pandit, Mahesh Bhatt and renowned badminton player-Pullela Gopichand, have co-produced this movie and it is directed by Sudhanshu Sharma.
Plot:
Siddharth Sharma (Kay Kay Menon) in his younger age is a promising badminton player of Bhopal, whose bright future is ruined by some corrupt politicians. He becomes deeply saddened and gives up his beloved sport. Later, he finds work with the railways and lives with his family, but eventually, he changes as a person. The movie begins by showing Siddharth getting transferred to Bhopal. The tension in the family is felt from the beginning. Siddharth is shown as a bitter and cold person. He prevents his son, Aditya (played by Ark Jain), from playing any sports. He even closes Aditya’s bedroom window so he can’t see other kids playing. His motive is to protect his son from the hardships he faced in the past. But destiny has other plans. Aaditya plays badminton at school with support from his mother, Jaya (Shirswara Dubey), and his father’s childhood friend, Viju (Sumit Arora). The story takes a turn when Siddharth discovers that his son is secretly playing badminton.
Review:
In “Love All,” Kay Kay Menon plays an important character, and his acting is really impressive. Even when he’s quiet, you can sense his sternness and anguish. The filmmakers picked an actual badminton player, Deep Rambhiya, to act as young Kay Kay Menon. Siddharth. Despite being new to acting, he did a great job. Ark Jain who himself is a national level badminton player has played the role of Aditya very confidently. Swasthika Mukherji and Shriswara have given authentic performance. Robin Das, Sumit Arora, and several other actors have played the supporting roles very well. The young actors in the movie are real badminton players, the way they portrayed the sport on screen feels completely genuine. This is the movie’s biggest strength. Saurabh-Vaibhav’s music is sweet and feels new when you listen to it. “Gili si Subah” sung by Papon is a soulful song with heart touching lyrics. The song “Jhat Pat,” sung by Sonu Nigam, is full of energy and is a great addition to your workout playlist for sure.
In the game of badminton, “Love All” signifies the score when both sides have yet to earn a point. However, “Love All” also explains the spirit of fairness, sportsmanship, and the starting of a new game. The movie begins with one dream ending and then starts with a new one. It has a positive message. Kudos to director, Sudhanshu Sharma for showing great respect to Badminton by making a complete movie on this wonderful sport with complete authenticity. Consider watching it with your kids and let them explore the deeper meaning behind “Love All” both on and off the court.
Movie probably shows the dilema of a typical father where he wants his child do well but without the struggle which he himself went him. In this later is more important that he doesn’t want child to struggle or see bad side of the world.
Good and apt review.
