Oh! Baby is a Telugu fantasy comic movie released in 2019. It is an adaption of the Korean classic movie, Miss Granny which was released in 2014. It has Samantha, Lakshmi, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, and Naga Shaurya in the lead roles. The movie is not available in Hindi dubbed version yet. It is available on Netflix in Malayalam language, you can watch it with subtitles. Director B.V. Nandini Reddy has brilliantly directed this movie adding an Indian touch to it. The movie is about a granny, Baby who is overly concerned about her family, especially her son and grandson. She has to face some bitter experiences in her life for that she blames God. In return, God blesses her with her youthful days. A series of hilarious situations occur when the 70-year-old Baby (Lakshmi) transforms into a 24-year-old Swathi (Samantha). Both the female leads, Lakshmi and Samantha have done a phenomenal job. The movie has a balance of emotional drama and comedy. It is a musical family entertainer that can be watched by everyone and it leaves a deep impact on your heart.
Samantha’s performance is outstanding. She perfectly executed the role of a 24-year girl with the mind and actions of a 70-year-old granny. She just looks beautiful in all the costumes. I watched the movie twice only for Samantha. The way she adopted the body language of a 70-year-old woman is wonderful. She has completely lived the character of Baby. Her expressions in every scene are breathtaking. Though the film is on Samantha’s shoulders the supporting actors have done their job perfectly. Some scenes between the granny and her son are very intense and make us emotional. The relationship of Baby with her friend, and grandson is also shown beautifully. The music of the movie is given by Mickey J. Meyer. Even if you don’t understand the language you feel like listening to the songs repetitively. The ‘Oh Baby’ song is the best of all. ‘Changu bhala’ is another melodious song that has a catchy tune.
This movie is a roller coaster of emotions. It has everything, comedy, romance, and family values. The movie ends with several messages. It is about embracing the relationships in your life. It teaches you to fulfill your dreams whenever possible and enjoy every moment of your life to the fullest.
