5 movies to watch on children’s day!

Hawaa Hawai:

Hawaa Hawaai was released in the year 2014 and is available on Disney+Hotstar. The movie is based on skating and is directed by Amole Gupte. The film has Partho Gupte and Saqib Saleem in the main lead where Saqib plays the role of skating coach and Partho his student.  Arjun (Partho) is a poor boy who works at a tea stall, but his dreams are of becoming a skater. When Aniket Bhargava (Saqib Salim) meets this passionate boy and observes his dedication towards skating he takes a decision of training him and sending him for state level skating competition. In the process Aniket learns about the hardships of Arjun and his friends. He decides to give them proper education. The film has a touching story with brilliant performance by every actor. It is not just a sports film but reality of children that one comes across traffic signals. The film focuses on poverty and child labor. It must be watched for Partho’s award winning acting. The kids who played the characters of his friends are too good. Their acting is effortless with a touch of innocence. Highly recommended for all!

Pappu ki pagdandi  (2015)

This movie is directed by Seema Desai and is produced by Children’s Film Society of India. The star cast includes Anupam Bhattacharya, Jaswinder Gardner, Master Hardik Khanna and Atul Parchure. Pappu is a young school going boy who belongs to a middle-class family in Manali. He is very excited to join the well-known school of the town. But soon he struggles to adjust in his new school. His classmates who belong to rich families make fun of his financial condition.  Pappu’s father is an engineer who is jobless. He makes innovative toys for his son out of wastes, but his friends look down upon them. To assist Pappu, a genie enters into his life, and he makes him aware of his inner strengths and qualities. Overall, the movie is a blend of comedy and emotions. 

Gattu (2012): This movie is available on YouTube. The film is directed by Rajan Khosla and produced by Children’s Film Society. The music of this film is given by Sandesh Shandilya. The cast of this movie includes Mohammad Samad, Naresh Kumar, Jayanta Das and Zoya Arshad. Mohammad Samad who played the role of “Gattu” has given stunning performance. One is compelled to adore him. The story is very simple but entertaining. It is about a boy, Gattu who is a street kid and his challenge of winning kaali. Gattu decides to defeat the black kite “kaali” which has won many kite-flying competitions. The movie can be watched by children of all ages. It will leave a smile on your face. 

Bumm Bumm Bole (2010)

Bumm Bum Bole is directed by Priyadarshan. The film has Darsheel Safary, Atul Kulkarni, Rituparna Sengupta and Ziyah Vastani in the main lead. The film is officially adapted from an Iranian film, Children of Heaven. Darsheel Safary plays the role of elder brother who is sent to get his sister’s sandals repaired from a cobbler. But unfortunately, he loses them and then both brother and sister secretly begin to share the same pair of shoes to attend their school. They do not tell their parents because it would be difficult for them to buy new shoes owing to their poor financial condition.  Priyadarshan is well known for his comedy movies and with this movie he has shown his versatility. This movie is lighthearted family entertainer and can be watched by everyone. 

Stanley ka dabba (2011)

Stanley ka Dabba is directed and produced by Amole Gupte. The film has Partho, Amole Gupte, Divya Dutta, Divya Jagdale, Rahul Singh and Raj Zutshi in the main lead. The movie is available on Disney + hotstar. Amole Gupte plays the character of a gluttonous teacher who has a habit of eating food from children’s lunch boxes. When Stanley is unable to offer him lunch, the teacher gives him an ultimatum. This forces poor Stanley to miss his school. The issue is later resolved by the principal of the school. The film is made in a simplistic and authentic way. It is delightful to watch all the food items being packed in the lunch boxes. It takes you down the memory lane. Partho with his natural acting steals the show. All the child artists gave realistic performances. Divya Dutta has played the role of Stanley’s teacher. You will surely admire her in this movie. At times the movie becomes slow but overall, an enjoyable watch.
